MOBILedit Forensic has received its first supercharged upgrade since the recent release of version 9.0 on 26/07/2022! We have listened to your valuable feedback and turned it into development to bring you new features and opportunities for more evidence. We are excited in bringing you version 9.0.1.
Smartwatches
Smartwatches are personal devices that act as an extension and insight into a person's life, right down to the blood flowing through their veins. Smartwatches can show how users feel, and what they are doing at a specific moment in time.
For the newly supported Garmin watches, we have taken our development a step further shortly after its introduction. Previously the watch had to be connected to a PC and the files were copied via Windows for import into MOBILedit Forensic. Not anymore! You can now connect a Garmin watch directly to MOBILedit Forensic so that you can extract and analyze detailed activity data and evidence from these highly personal devices.
MOBILedit Forensic Cloud
Clouds are the backbone of many devices and applications, and this is the future for mobile devices. Mobile phones, smartwatches, computers, and applications rely on cloud services to make sure that users have all of their data and information at their fingertips across all of their devices.
For version 9.0.1 we have added:
Booking.com - you will now be able to acquire detailed data on lifestyle activity and locations visited for both work and pleasure.
Microsoft Teams - now a familiar tool in many people's daily working lives where you can see valuable conversations, calls and contacts.
All of these clouds are especially important for gathering evidence in corporate and business investigations.
We have also updated the two-factor authentication login for several of the existing supported cloud services so that you can continue to acquire data from the most popular cloud services.
iOS 16
We were ready and prepared to support iOS 16 from Apple, as we got ahead of the game as BETA testers ourselves! You will straight away be ready to acquire data from iOS 16 devices as soon as one lands in your evidence store. There is also support for the new developer mode.
Other improvements and updates:
Release notes are now visible on the update page from within the MOBILedit Forensic software updates module. This means that you will be able to see the current version of the software and specific update, along with previous versions with information and a link to the full release notes on our website.
The Yara engine has been updated to include more definitions with more power to hunt and track down potential Malware & Spyware.
Huawei backups can now be imported from the new HiSuite software for the extraction and analysis of data.
Data can be decrypted from more applications when using our rooting methods. Security bypassing has been further enhanced to offer more options that safer and easier to use and work on even more devices.
We have also fixed some small cosmetic bugs in reports to keep your reports looking smart and professional for presentation in court or other proceedings.
